Rachel Sophia Studio products are exclusively crafted using dead-stock yarn, in wide range of yarn varieties including; Cashmere, Lambswool, Mohair, Alpaca, Cotton, Viscose, Elastic.
Dead-stock yarn refers to excess or surplus yarn that remains unused by knitwear manufacturers. Repurposing these unused materials ensures a sustainable design process. Furthermore, the use of dead-stock yarn allows the brand to produce unique and exclusive colour combinations.
Lampshade care
To ensure the safety and longevity of your handmade knitted lampshade, please use only LED light bulbs. LED bulbs emit significantly less heat than traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs, making them the safest choice for our knitted lampshades. This product is designed and tested for use with LED bulbs only. If you are unsure or need any advice please get in touch and I will be happy to help.
Cushion Care
All cushion covers can be washed if necessary. For best results we recommended a cool, gentle hand wash;
Using cool water, submerge and leave the fabric for 15 minutes. Then rinse with cool water. Gently press to remove excess water, do not rub. We advise you to reshape the knit whilst wet. Place the cushion cover flat on a clean, dry towel, placing another towel on top. Leave to dry away from direct heat. If desired, a gentle steam once dry will help the fabric look its best, ensure not to press.
